    2. Re: How to address an envelope. I totally agree, sets my teeth on edge when I see a woman (usually an older one who prefers it) as: Mrs. John Smith (yikes!) But for something formal, such as an invitation, you should address it as Mr. and Mrs., Dr. and Mrs., Drs., etc. That's the way it is.
