    Looks like they have two tiers of coverage. Most cards are in Tier 1 and offer coverage for cars with a new retail price up to $50,000. Tier 2 seems to only apply to Platinum and Centurion cards and covers up to $75,000. One big advantage of Amex is that they do not allow Dynamic Currency Conversion.

When signing up you can request they mail you the insurance information. Take this with you. I've rented numerous times and none of the companies I've used have asked for proof.
