If you have prepaid for fuel it will go on your cc when you return the car - the actual cost will be on the receipt you will get when you take the car back along with the local taxes. Ours came to about £35 in total last time and the cost of fuel has come down since then.
To cut a long story short the guy told me I can't complete online check-in because I've booked through a third party and I haven't given Alamo credit card details. And I told him I had completed online check-in and had a confirmation in front of me. He repeated. I repeated. And again. Twice. He eventually said, okay, just go to the parking lot.
I know it needs my credit card details but im worried that it doesnt say Ive prepaid. Ive called Alamo and contacted them through chat. They didnt know how skip the counter works and suggested They will take a deposit of $400 dollars off my card. But they couldnt answer why it says estimate total to pay and not that Ive prepaid the rental.
I used the online check in - checked in two days before we flew and gave driving licence number. Once we had picked out our car at the airport we drove to the exit where we showed driving licence and had credit card swiped and were given the sat nav which was included. Whole process took less than 10 minutes.
