4. Re: Discover card in Italy. 5 years ago. Capital One 360 comes with an ATM card, they actually pay a small amount in interest too. You transfer money from from your bank account (via computer) into the 360. No fees, Italian bancomats (ATM's) do not charge fees either. I now travel exclusively with Cap One, both credit card and debit card.

Diners Club has been widely accepted by merchants in every country I’ve visited in Italy ( Milan, Florence, Venice, Amalfi Coast except Rome! As far as Euros, I recommend 1) getting euros at your local bank or 2) plan to use a credit card to withdraw cash in euros. The exchange desks and hotels have horrible rates.
I currently only have a discover student card. I was planning on using it on my trip in 12 days as the credit card company told me that I should not have an issue with it. However, upon further research (most forums posted answers in 2009-2014) that the discover card and its affiliate Diners Club is virtually unknown.
