Re: How to buy UK train tickets from overseas? 2 years ago. When buying train tickets for the UK in advance what I did was not try to get an e-ticket, but choose pick up at the station. You then go to a ticket machine in the station with the card you used to buy the tickets, and then just collect them. Works fine.
