To clarify, when Sobeys acquired the Canada Safeway chain in 2013, they were required by the Competition Bureau to sell a number of stores. The Sobeys in Canmore was sold to Overwaitea, which rebranded it as Save-On-Foods. The Safeway store is owned by Sobeys.
