Thats close to $2000 which seems ridiculous to me. So I decided to use my Costco Citi Card insurance. They do cover Ireland (i've heard alot of credit cards do not). The rental company can immediately bill the card company for any damages and I'm out of it. I also prefer not to risk my long term auto insurance rates with whatever might happen with a damaged rental. I know I'll have very little control over the repair process with a rental and would rather have the credit card company insulate me from that risk.
