    26 helpful votes. Renting car through Kayak, why are some of the cars 50% off? 6 years ago. I've been looking for a car rental place in IAD (Washington Dulles) in July. kAlmost every single site has min-priced cars @ about $33 a day, but for some reason, Kayak.com has some cars at $15 a day. Has anyone ever dealt with them?

It shows prices on various web sites side by side but you actually rent the car through which ever other web site you choose. I use it to see possible prices and then book through one of the car web sites that seem reasonable.
