I have a booking starting 18th July and I emailed them with the code and my booking reference number. They modified the booking and initiated a refund of the discount amount in no time.

Alamo's site doesn't talk about insurance so I called to find out the cost. It is 17 euros per day for CDW but then another 5 euros per day for windshield protection.

   Be warned. Bad experience with Alamo, in Dublin Airport. We had booked an all inclusive deal on the web. Very hard sell at the desk for 3 things: (1) strongly advised (= "forced") to take out CDW insurance for $24 per day - roads very narrow, dangerous to drive etc etc. (2) major attempt to sell to upgrade to a much more expensive model (3) pay a fee to bring back the car empty.
