I arrived to pick up my rental with my $480 9 day rental reservation that I had made with Southwest Airlines. One hour of lies and games, trying to rent me a Jeep for $3000. Telling me they didn’t have my car because it was peak season, trying to charge me $100 a day for insurance, every lie and scam you can imagine.
Credit card charged $1500.00!!! $1000.00 of taxes, false upgrade, and random services. We declined all, charged for all to the enormous sum of $1500.00!!! It is a total scam. Sadly, the prices($5-20/day) quoted on the websites do not include the Mexican required insurance and must be added to the rental or a deposit is taken from your credit card to cover damage to the car.
I closed the deal on the internet for $750. The rental agent charged me $1,250 for a subpar car. Uploaded a photo to prove it. Hertz cheated me! I will never rent a car from Hertz again. Additionally, the so-called Gold Membership only seems to result in paying more. I felt deceived and harmed.
