Priceline Scam. 2 years ago. I wanted to write this to inform others of what seems scammy and scummy business practices that Priceline is running. In case you didn't know that Priceline charges a fee along with taxes on every room booked through their website. Which is fine or whatever but what you may not know is that with their hidden hotels ...
I think Priceline has gotten away from their original sales model. They used to mainly offer blind bidding for potential steep discounts. When I looked at Priceline recently for a car rental their prices were comparable to booking through any other third party or booking direct and most of the listings named the rental car company.
An express deal for $192 for 8 days of an economy car rental. Company revealed after purchasing, but guaranteed to be one of six. Other deals are at least twice that much if not more so it seems to good to be true.
3 years ago. Kirk, you did not rent a car from Priceline, you rented from a rental company and had Priceline book it. That means you are held to the terms you agreed to with both companies. You are not entitled automatically to a refund because you had personal things go wrong.

So these scammers you speak about who charged you $128 extra, is the rental car agency if this was a pre-paid rental.
