   Thanks. It appears there's no AAA discount on Hertz right now except for weekend and weekly rentals (I'm renting for 4 weekdays). Hertz has a 25% off discount coupon code, but it only allows one CDP code, so it won't let me enter my AAA information to get the free second driver.

   Going to Charleston for a five day family vacation and plan to rent a car at the airport. I used Expedia or AAA to get quotes and found Thrifty always gave much lower quote (CAD $400 range) than other more well known companies such as Alamo or Enterprise (CAD $700-800 range). I am not familiar with Thrifty (don't have them here in Canada).

   That includes little dings in the windshield and scratches on the hubcaps. I guess that applies to any car rental company, but it especially goes for the cheaper ones. Make sure you join the rental company's rewards program, be it Hertz's Gold Club or Thrifty's Blue Chip Rewards.
