@nishin91 - you inspired me to look up your quote as I normally work on a rough figure of 1,000 stations in the main Tokyo area. But I now find that is way too low with the main companies servicing 1,869 stations and adding in the 31 smaller companies the number for Tokyo is over 2,200.
Re: Street names/signs. knowing the street name alone won't direct you to your destination. As mentioned above, you need to look at a map to locate the actual building. Address like Kabukicho 1-3-2 : Street sign tells you which AREA is Kabukicho 1 , you will have to look for block 3, and then building 2 on this block.
