Even though you did not need to show the QR code, the Jordanian government has your information by the fact you applied (it's possible they verified it with the airline before you showed up at the airport).
You complete OLCI as normal and then select send the boarding pass to a phone option. You then open it and it shows a QR code which is held to the scanners at the airport. Many airlines have specific apps which are geared up to issuing QR boarding passes. Pretty efficient system IMO.
