   Thrifty vs. Enterprise - surprise surprise! 13 years ago. I got a great rate for next week with Thrifty, but something made me look at fine print. Ouch. The midsize car averages $18 a day over 9 days. BUT... If i want my lovely, capable wife to get behind the wheel at any point, it's an additonal $12 a day. EVEN as a Blue Chip member.

I have a few reservations with different companies. I’ll be canceling and let one or two remain. Right now I have enterprise $590; and thrifty $400; and Avis $600.

Enterprise is quoting me over $4000 and Thrifty is just over $700. I see everywhere the budget car rental companies have hidden costs but I cannot get a clear indication of what hidden costs.
