    Re: Sales Tax can someone explain. 14 years ago. The tax is 6.5% in Orlando and 7% in Kissimmee. (Add 6% more for tax on room/hotels nights.) You are not taxed on food items in grocery stores (but will be on beer/wine). You will be at restaurants as well as on clothes and other merchandise in stores when you check out.
