I have booked a car rental at the Kona airport with Budget and now I see a better price with either Thrifty or Dollar. BUT i see all of these companies get really bad reviews on Trip Advisor for this location.

   Definitely Alamo is better. I am not a Budget fan in ANY airport. Join the Alamo Insiders, get a small discount, book a car then you can check in on-line and pay - then you can just go to the lot and pick the car. I just rechecked my reservations for January, and they are lower so I rebooked with the new prices.
