Many car rental agencies offer so called All-Inclusive car rental, including the above "don't worry coverage". Other car rental agencies offer these a a "menu"; pick and choose as you like. I just rebooked our trip to Ireland again. Hopefully the third time is the charm! I'm in the process of booking a rental car and was wondering about the insurance. I've read that CDW is required in Ireland but when we originally booked for May 2020, I checked with my credit card and they said I could request a confirmation of coverage letter 2 weeks before we left.
6 years ago. Third party liability insurance is a requirement to register a car (= obtain a number plate). Thus your rental car will have this insurance automatically. It cannot be withdrawn by the holder of the car (apart from de-registering the car ). What you can buy additionally is comprehensive cover.
