Hi, having towed a caravan in the UK for 25 years, I quite like the idea of doing do in the US next august for a couple of weeks around lake Michigan. I've done the RV and found it quite come training when going into towns.
I've used them several times (including March 2019). They were great. Long distance from Reno to Tucson and Bisbee to Vancouver, WA. Driving southbound, this section of 89A descends a couple thousand feet in elevation via about two miles of switchbacks. Then you are basically driving on the floor of the canyon beside the creek. My husband and I are taking our 4 children under age 10 across the country, leaving April 17th. In the past, on smaller trips we've always known where there are places to stop in which we could easily park and access fast food along the way (such as a home depot parking lot with a chick fil a within walking distance).
