You'll likely need to pay for uber/taxi from the place you return the car to your hotel and then take another from your hotel to the airport. That's going to be $30-$40 (guesstimate depending on what you take) at least with tip.

The shuttles are very efficient and you are unlikely to wait long for one. Usually there is one loading when I arrive in the area. If you see one taking off another will arrive shortly.

The kiosks that Alamo has are very convenient, no need to talk to a counter person. You can also pick your car, from a row in the catagory that you rented, nice to have a choice.
