    8 years ago. 1) Yes it will work if it is any international debit card (with visa electron).... BUT. There is a surcharge on every transaction. And most atm machines have a limit of 10k pesos max per transaction. Also, if you go to smaller islands, they have few atm machines.

    If your home bank is part of the Cirrus or Plus network, you could use your usual debit card in many Philippines ATMs, including the aforementioned HSBC.     There are over 10,000 establishments accepting both Mastercard and Visa credit cards (and also debit cards) here in the Philippines. The farther away you stay in a city the less likely that your credit card will be accepted. I've used my credit card as far as Batanes province in the north down to Zamboanga City and Saranggani in the south.
