I'd take a close look at one in a store. If you don't see that statement, I'd jot down the Customer Service number and call before you buy one.

We were also instructed by our very-common-in-the-US VISA card company that in most instances of live transactions, our chip card should work fine. If a PIN is insisted on, you can punch in any 4 numbers for a PIN to allow transaction to complete.
