Beer is not that much different, but better wines and spirits will be higher in Summit County, sometimes much higher depending on where you are shopping. There is a decent liquor store by the Safeway that Matt recommended.
I used to stop at the Youngfield Exit on the western end of the Denver suburbs when heading up the mountains. There is a King Soopers and a great liquor store, Applejacks.
