Expensive for a few hours of hiking. Aug 2020. It seems the Wisconsin DNR is discouraging folks who simply want to visit for the day. We have been to Copper Falls previously and enjoyed the hiking and viewing the falls. But now, you have to purchase an annual pass ($38.00 for out of state) if you want to visit Copper Falls.
We hiked the short trail to Running Eagle Falls off the main road in the Two Medicine part of the park. The trail was flat and easy to traverse for all skill levels. The waterfall at the end was nothing short of stunning! The waterfall in early July was exclusively flowing under the natural bridge which was unlike any falls I had seen before.
What luck we decided to take a look. It was well worth the walk all the way down the trail as it takes you to the edge of the falls where it roars over the edge and there are great viewing platforms and stairs right at the waters edge and with good views of the water rushing around the river bend as well. It’s a quick stop, well worth the time.
