   Going to Charleston for a five day family vacation and plan to rent a car at the airport. I used Expedia or AAA to get quotes and found Thrifty always gave much lower quote (CAD $400 range) than other more well known companies such as Alamo or Enterprise (CAD $700-800 range). I am not familiar with Thrifty (don't have them here in Canada).

   Thanks. It appears there's no AAA discount on Hertz right now except for weekend and weekly rentals (I'm renting for 4 weekdays). Hertz has a 25% off discount coupon code, but it only allows one CDP code, so it won't let me enter my AAA information to get the free second driver.

   Answered: I pre-purchased a full sized Thrifty car through Hotwire for an extended trip originating at Asheville Regional Airport. I arrived at the off-airport location to find that my full sized car was tiny and had no cruise control.

   Now kayak just give you the highest prices for all cars I'm afraid -- Do you have coupons deals, check each rental car company website for deals and use coupons and codes from the airlines, costco, aaa . if you are renting a car with zero coupons or deals. it is 10000% a guarantee that you are paying too much. happy searching
