   I’d wait and check the phone in person at a telcel site such as Walmart, not a cart. I used to buy a cheapie phone and a telcel sim card to use while in Cancun but after a year the number was deactivated. My plan now includes mx calls as local calls. T,mobile/sprint Maybe your plan has something similar. Ask before you leave.
