If you are only going for the day, leave the car on the mainland and just take the bikes on the Ferry. Car parking can be difficult if you don't have a house rental/hotel where you can park the car.

   I guess I'll find out about the senior fare when we get on the bus and ask the driver. $1.50 is better than $3.00 but not a big deal. As for the cable car, at $8.00 a ride, I guess it is not really a viable means of transportation any more, just a tourist attraction. We have ridden it a couple of times on past trips.

   Bottom line what the OP is really saying is that the senior fare on Muni is a good deal. Because there was no savings to them (other than dodging cable car fare) by using Clipper. Senior fare on Muni is $.75 (as Susan indicated). With the exception of cable cars. No discounts until 9PM and then the fare is $3.
