What I don’t like about Hertz, they charge you each and every day of the rental, even if you never go through another toll. The max is $24 or so, but it’s just flat out wrong.

If you rent a car for 3 days and use the toll road on day 1 you will still be charged for 3 days so lets say 4 dollars a day for 3 days is 12 dollars plus the actual toll -- lets say 1:50 so you pay 13:50 and others who have a local CA transponder pay 1:50. There is a max fee per month - it is under 20 dollars.

Hertz charges $5.95 for each day that a toll is incurred, plus the undiscounted toll itself.
We used a Hertz rental, they turned on the auto pay toll for us. They do charge a fee but only on the days that you use it. They recommended this at the Hertz desk: because of Covid, there’s no cash pay option at the toll for the bridge. I think they charged $5-6 in addition to the toll. I think it’s worth it.
