I live in Buffalo. It is a lovely western town. You won't find the touristy feel of Cody here. You will find mountains to hike in, a lovely big park in the center of town with the largest free swimming pool in Wyoming. There are quite a few good places to eat as well. Buffalo has a lot going on in July, so you need to book a hotel now.
