On my first trip to the Philippines in 2013 I was able to use my Discover card at a few banks for cash advances. The following year I was able to use it a few times and it was declined a few times. Since 2015 I have been unable to use it at any bank even though the bank has the Discover card logo.
1. Re: Accepting the Discover Card. Discover cards are more likely to be accepted in Tourist areas and NF is just that. You should be able to find more merchants who take Discover here than in any other (non-tourist) places. Of course, I doubt it is as popular as VISA/MC but your chance is pretty good.
7. Re: Using Discover card at an ATM. 11 years ago. Discover is NOT an ATM card!!! You should NEVER use any credit card at an ATM!! The withdrawal is considered a cash advance LOAN and interest rates will be over 20%. You need a bank account with an ATM/debit card to withdraw from an ATM. Report inappropriate content.
