Normally, I look up the car price on Hotwire and then reduce it about 20-25% and bid on Priceline, eventually beating the Hotwire offer. This time, Hotwire was so cheap, I didn't even bother. Both Hotwire and Priceline use Hertz, Avis, Enterprise, Alamo, and Budget, as I have had cars from all of those.
I've used Hotwire a number of times and always been happy with the car. They actually want to make money by selling you the insurance before the car rental company gets a chance to do the same thing. The rental companies are perfectly familiar with Hotwire and they want to tell you that their insurance is better than Hotwire's.

When you prepay booking there cars they do not forward anything to the rental place. I got ripped of by hotwire. I had my rental paid for 3 months before my trip. When I arrived in Orlando, FL to pick up the car I had to pay again, including the insurance. Stay Away From HOTWIRE, and go directly to the rental agencies, your better of that way.
