The rental was something like 10.50USD/day. The basic insurance was $14 per day, and the full coverage was $23 per day from payless' website. That really sucks that VISA says it is covered in mexico, but it really isn't. In thier policy section also from the "Mexico Insurance and Credit Card Coverages REVISED" thread.

Payless Car Rental,San Francisco. 17 years ago. I rented a car from Payless. The car was dependable and had good brakes. I was satisfied with the car. There is only 1 location in San Francisco. which is a 10 minute drive. outside the San Francisco Airport. It is not open 24 hours a day.
Most of the other well-known brands (Avis, Hertz, Budget, Thrifty and Dollar) DO require a deposit over and above the cost of rental (anywhere from $200 to $350). It's good to know, especially in Vegas. For a week's stay, you can easily encounter up to $1000 in holds (with hotel and car rental deposits). Report inappropriate content.
