Re: archway tube area. Archway is fairly safe aslong as you stick to the main areas. The area is served by many Night Buses to/from Central London, so thats not a problem (N10, N41, N43, and 134 (24 hr route)). There isnt much in terms of shopping in the area. You can jump on the route 43 to Holloway where there are many shopping and things to do.
Nice place to sit and relax, pick from a ton of choices. Clean sitting areas or grab and go, the 1.65 large cookies are awesome and a super deal. Only in Texas can you get a cheese cookie, I would advise against unless you like cookies that taste like biscuits. The Cherry ice box cookie was amazing!
Archway Bridge was designed by John Nash in 1812 was built to carry Hornsey Lane over a cutting through the hill in a tunnel. In the late 1890, Nash's road was replaced by the present cast iron bridge slightly further north. Way below the bridge is the Archway Road, the modern day A1. The bridge offers a magnificent view over London.
