Work on the Rs.500 million shopping and entertainment complex started in September 2011.
In the present times, the building is still impressive, externally. Interiors of the building are mostly vacant. There is a Cargills Supermarket, a Fast Food restaurant and a liquor shop on the ground floor. The interiors are also impressive, with wooden paneled floor, the lift, the stairway and the fire bell all from the times gone by.

2. Re: Cargills Food City. 9 years ago. You should be able to find other alcohol shops - locally called Wine Shops - in the area. I've seen about 4 Cargills stores in the Galle town. Three of them were just blatant ripoffs of the original store. Same signage, colours etc Not sure if this is the case around Hikkaduwa. Report inappropriate content.
