8 years ago. Beware of parking in Manitou Springs. The parking police in the city placed cones around me car after we had parked in a parking spot and paid $40 to park there. Then we found the ticket when we returned, went to the police station where they told us there was nothing they could do because they use a private company for this.

We went 2 weeks ago with a 10-12 timed entry. Arrived at 10:30 and the line to check in was about a 15 minute wait. There were 3 lanes open for check in.
The Pioneer's Museum contains so many nuggets of history that they have to rotate exhibits to show it all off. Anything Colorado Springs can be a topic. I visited once when a group of students from Colorado College partnered with the staff to design an exhibit. The roots go deep here and it is well worth the visit.
