However, Costco.ca (online shopping) does accept Visa cards. Costco in Canada is separate from (although related to) Costco in the US, and banking is separate in Canada from US banks and credit cards. So the contract that Costco has with Visa in the US does not apply in Canada, or vice versa. Yes, Toto, you weren't in Kansas anymore.

BTW - After many years of whining and complaining to my bank in Canada I was finally able to use my TD Canada Trust Visa card at Costco the other day. (Up to now they had to call someone to come with the old paper machine and run my card through that.) They could not use the automated cash and it took extra time and trouble.
