   Tri Rail a commuter train goes from Ft. Lauderdale to Miami Airport, its very inexpensive. But you still need transportation to a station near where you are staying. And there are no porters to assist with bags so you're on your own. Tri Rail should be under $10 or so depending on which station in FTL you use. They have a web site with more info.

I don't know if this has been previously posted but all the major rental car companies are now located in a new central parking garage east of the airport between NW 21st/25th streets and 37th (Douglas Rd)/42nd (Le June Rd) avenues, about 1.5 miles away.

Hello everyone, I read so many negative reviews about practically ALL the cheap car rental options at MIA/FLL including about some more well known brands such as Budget (LONG waits) and Dollar which scared me so much that I canceled a great deal I had booked on wisecars.com from Green Motion at MIA due to all the negative reviews.

   Between the two, MIA will be a closer drive, BUT you may be able to get out of FLL quicker. The walk to the MIA rental area seemed to take forever. If you can swing it and are checking bags, have one person go get the vehicle, one get the bags and then pick them up. May save time. Report inappropriate content.
