I'm not sure I understand your reference to "non brand" supermarkets like Aldi or Lidl, because when I was in Europe, they seemed similar to our supermarket chains or groups here in Canada. There are various of them - Save-On Foods, Safeway. IGA is a group of independent stores (perhaps what you mean?) T&T is a chain of Asian grocery stores.
