The Air Force Academy is worth the visit. The school and grounds are expansive and impressive. Stop by the visitors center for a map, buy a t-shirt and have your questions answered. You can drive, you can hike if you want to. The cathedral is the center piece and is under heavy renovation so we were unable to see that but will return to do so.
