I've seen a several questions about international to domestic transit times at Denver Airport, but my question is the opposite. I am considering a route with a Southwest domestic flight arriving at DEN at 5:40p. I would need to collect my bags and check-in for a United flight to Hong Kong with an 8:20p departure time.

Depends on where you're coming from but if you have to go thru customs you'll head to main terminal from A gates then head back to luggage check & thru security in same general area. If you pack light you won't have to recheck your luggage. It's probably enough time.

7. Re: International to Domestic connection in DIA. 4 years ago. You do have a bit of a benefit using Southwest as your connection, but this is still a somewhat risky plan. With most airlines, if you miss a flight on your itinerary the entire itinerary is canceled. Southwest is more flexible in allowing you to use the ticket.
