I am opening this thread because so many contact solutions come in the size of 3.5 oz, while the TSA limit is 3.4 oz. The different is so tiny. Checking in my luggage is not an option because I will be traveling light. There are very few travel size solutions for gas permeable lenses on Amazon. And their prices are high, e.g, $9 for 0.33 oz.
A long time ago my son from the US visited us in Stuttgart. Of course they had seized his large bottle of contact lens fluid before the flight We thought it would be a simple solution to get him more, but not on a Saturday afternoon. We tried both eye doctor offices and pharmacies.
Nope, solution is not allowed. Nothing liquid on flights to, from or within the US.. Even with a presciption it's unlikely it will be allowed on because not having it won't be life threatening.
