   He was very pleased with the rate we had from AAA/Thrifty out of ABQ last week - $212 for a Nissan Altima with unlimited milage for a week. We always go with the cheapest, so I can't even remember what rental companies we've used. For one trip, he got a good deal from Payless, but I'd seen some bad reviews and made him cancel.

They charged $100 for the 'one way' element, which I found cheaper than other companies, many of whom added $150. It would be worth checking if Dollar charge similarly for SUVs.

   Most rental car agencies, and in my own experience Avis is now part of this, do not charge a separate "One Way Fee" any more but instead work it into the "Base Rate". Also, many regions are run as a conglomerate where for many rates you can pick up or drop off anywhere (major locations at least).

   Part of my vacation is not having to think about car rental,planning a route,looking for parking,etc. Id not rent a car and take a tour to the dam. You surely dont need a car while in Vegas. With Uber,Lyft and other modes of transport in Vegas,getting anywhere is quite easy. have fun
