Thousands of people have good experiences every day renting their cars ... but 99% of review writers are the vast minority who have a bad experience.

I waited nearly 30 minutes to pick up a reserved car. Lines were just as bad the day I dropped off the car inside, I checked. Edited: 10 years ago.
The Budget office was closed and Avis was managing Budget's rental cars at the Denver Airport. There were three to four people working at the counter and more than 500 people waiting. The indoor area was over-crowded leaving hundreds of people exposed to COVID-19, elderly people were falling down and children and adults were crying.
It was around $240.00 a day, which is expensive, yes but you are guaranteed the 4wd or AWD you select. On the Enterprise website for Denver airport, you can select a Ford Edge AWD for $156.00 per day. But this is not guaranteed, or I haven't figured out how to ensure you get what you rent from a major car rental company.

Based on reading posts - probably will rent on Quebec St @ Avis or Enterprise (realize different Doubletree Hotels for each). Will return car to airport (not at hotel) - sounds like the airport rental companies are 15 minute shuttle to/from airport.
