Re: ITA Old Matrix = my favorite way to research flights. Yes, the old ITA Software Matrix has been my go-to for travel planning. Google's Airfare Search just doesn't offer the flexibility to thoroughly research your options. Everything seems to get dumbed down when corporations take control of good ideas.

I have seen fares be more expensive (so the ITA/Google Flights fare is not really available) and less expensive (promotional fares on the airline's website not picked up). 9 years ago. As mentioned, ITA Matrix gives you the fare basis. Send or take it to a travel agent. They should be able to book the exact same fare (assuming the fare is still available by the time they try to make the booking).
