2. Re: Which Rental Car Companies Are Easiest at Airport. All car rental facilities at LAX are off-site, and you will need to take a shuttle from the terminal to get to one. I would stick with the major firms - Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz, National, Thrifty.
Look for signages that point you to " Rental Cars Shuttles". Wait at the island, take a seat on the bench. You should be able to see the Rental Cars shuttle buses arriving continously. Hertz (yellow buses), Avis (red buses), National/Alamo (mix of blue and green buses), Enterprise (white buses), etc. Report inappropriate content.
I'm struggling to get anything out of Avis other than them copying and pasting a pretty useless piece of "information" from their website. Last time through LAX (arriving in Tom Bradley terminal) we ended up walking nearly half a mile to T8 before we could find a Purple Zone where an Avis shuttle would actually stop for us.

There are signs for various vehicles: shared vans, parking lot shuttles, rental car shuttles. You just need to board the one for Budget rent a car. 3.

Most car rental shuttles including Hertz pull up to the 'traffic island' in the roadway in front of exit door for baggage claim at each terminal. The traffic island has color-coded signs hanging over it. Look for the PURPLE overhead sign that says "Rental Cars".
