1. Re: Is a rental car necessary? 5 years ago. It really depends on where you are staying and if you are satisfied with getting to places on foot or by Uber. Uber is more expensive here than in a big city and if you’re ok with spending money on Uber verses a personal car then it’s an option to get places instead of walking.

i second that vote i would rent a car with a car you dont have to worry about schedules you can do whatever you like and go wherever you want say you want to go to destin you can just hop in the car and go and grocery shopping as well you dont want to lug all those groceries on the trolly well hope you have a great time. 3.

Re: Do you need to rent a car in Panama City. May 8, 2024, 10:06 AM. It really depends on you. PCB is pretty spread out and there is not much within walking distance of Wyndham. So if your main goal is to just hang out at the resort the majority of the time then an Uber to Pier Park and Dolphin Cruise may be fine.

My husband & I are planning a romantic getaway for our 25th wedding anniversary in October 2009. One of our choices is Panama City Beach.Do we need a car to get around? We would rather just grab a cab, but also hope to be able to walk from hotel to restaurants and nightclubs.
