I found a great rate through AAA for Hertz Car Rental at OGG, but there are SO many horrible reviews and experiences that people seem to share on Yelp, etc. that I am timid to book.
5. Re: Hertz Gold membership question. 6 years ago. No, you need to have the GR number on the reservation to qualify for the service, which basically means they pre- allocate a car to you which you can just go to the garage and drive off in, depending on the location arrangements.
Friendly and professional staff, no wait at the Gold Rewards desk, fast and easy check-out and return, the vehicle (Mitsubishi Xpander) was in excellent condition with only 3,200 KM on the odometer, and the final bill was exactly as expected (roughly $575 / week with all taxes, airport fees, etc.).
Getting to rental cars On arrival at Tampa International involves an easy, well-marked train ride. Renting Gold was the expected simple matter of picking a car and exiting. Returning, I missed the left exits for rental cars — one at each end of the airport — and ended up back on the seven-mile bridge to St. Petersburg again, so watch carefully.
Dollar Rentals vs Hertz. 1 year ago. I plan to hire a car for1 day on Sept 21 -2023 to do a quick drive around the island and stop at a few our favourite places - Sandy beach for a swim , Kalapawai market for lunch then ( hopefully ) a short stop at the Premium Outlets. I have 2 x cars booked - 1 x Dollar car rentals and 1 x Hertz car rentals.
5. Re: Hertz Atlanta airport nightmare. 7 years ago. Renting a car with a debit card rather than a credit card is always going to be a problem regardless of the rental car center. Most are going to want a large deposit or other proof of funds. If this qualifies as a nightmare, you must lead a pretty charmed life.
I am a regular Gold member, so I would be upgraded to Five Star. According to the website, it may take 3-5 days for my hertz account to reflect the upgrade.
