The parking there can be really bad. It is about 3-4 miles toward Honolulu from the airport. There is a Walmart & Sam's Club about 2 blocks behind Ala Moana Center.
If you just need milk, cereal and fruit for breakfast the first day, there are more than a dozen ABC stores in Waikiki, one would be easily walkable from where you are staying. Even Foodland Farms and Safeway on Kapahulu are easy to get to. 8. Re: Recommendation for grocery delivery in Waikiki.
Grocery Delivery? 1 year ago. We are a family of 4 that will be staying at the Hilton Hawaiian Village for 10 nights starting next week. Our unit will have a full kitchen and to cut down on cost we would like to cook our own meals for some meals. I would prefer not to lose time in Hawaii grocery shopping if possible.
The difference between a regular Walmart and a Walmart Superstore is the the Superstore actually has a full grocery store in it with fresh vegetables & fruits tables, a butcher store with fresh meets, a deli section etc. Almost any Walmart will have dried and canned goods along with some frozen and fresh items (like milk and eggs), but they aren't a substitute for a full grocery store.
Confirming that the Walmart in Honolulu is not a supercenter. Although you can get groceries at the Sam's Club upstairs if you are a member. There is a Foodland in Ala Moana Shopping Center, which is 2 short blocks towards the ocean from the Walmart. There are many grocery stores in Honolulu: Star, Safeway, Times Supermarket, Foodland.
5. Re: Best supermarket / grocery stores. The Bus , number 13 goes directly to Safeway on Kapahulu in one direction and to Walmart in the other direction. Safeway has a good selection but other than weekly specials is not cheap.Walmart is limited in selection but most reasonable for basics such as flour sugar eggs.
