Confirming that the Walmart in Honolulu is not a supercenter. Although you can get groceries at the Sam's Club upstairs if you are a member. There is a Foodland in Ala Moana Shopping Center, which is 2 short blocks towards the ocean from the Walmart. There are many grocery stores in Honolulu: Star, Safeway, Times Supermarket, Foodland.
If you just need milk, cereal and fruit for breakfast the first day, there are more than a dozen ABC stores in Waikiki, one would be easily walkable from where you are staying. Even Foodland Farms and Safeway on Kapahulu are easy to get to. 8. Re: Recommendation for grocery delivery in Waikiki.

If you have a vehicle when you are here it is easily accessible from Waikiki. there is a Sam's Club in the same complex. run a Google map if you have your hotel address.

The parking there can be really bad. It is about 3-4 miles toward Honolulu from the airport. There is a Walmart & Sam's Club about 2 blocks behind Ala Moana Center.
5. Re: Best supermarket / grocery stores. The Bus , number 13 goes directly to Safeway on Kapahulu in one direction and to Walmart in the other direction. Safeway has a good selection but other than weekly specials is not cheap.Walmart is limited in selection but most reasonable for basics such as flour sugar eggs.
Walmart is just over 2 miles from your hotel.... And it would be a nice stroll much of the way along the Ala Wai canal. There is wonderful, huge Safeway store just over a mile away up Kapahulu Avenue. The Food Pantry store referenced by others is about five blocks down Kuhio Avenue towards the center of Waikiki.

Answer 1 of 33: Hi friends. As an Aussie I like to visit some different shops when traveling. I enjoy looking around even if I don’t buy a lot it if fun. Looking at the map I think I could catch a bus to Ala Moana for some shopping and then walk to Walmart.
