They understated the cost of a prepaid Thrifty car rental by 15 % (for a 12-day rental), which was the reason I chose them. Then Thrifty charged me that extra 15% ($132) and would not honor the Hotwire commitment.
The Hotwire rate was about $7.00 per day, which seemed great, so I reserved the car. When I went to pickup the car in Cabo San Lucas, Thrifty insisted I needed to pay an additional $14.00 per day in personal liability insurance. They refused to rent me the car otherwise.I called hotwire from Cabo and they confirmed this.

Hotwire told us we had to cancel reservation because they only hold the cars for 1/2 hour. Tried to make new reservation and then it went from aprox 350 to over 1000 dollars. Called Thrifty and Hotwire many times. Hotwire told us we should not have "cancelled" the reservation. The cars are held for 24 hours. So Hotwire screwed us royal.
